In addition to these grants, the Foundation distributed $49,936.65 from donor-advised, designated, and scholarship funds to benefit other programs in the Carteret region and across North Carolina.
The Carteret Community Foundation hosted a luncheon on June 1 to honor scholarship recipients and donors who have established scholarship funds within the Foundation. Tim Bradford, president of the Carteret Community Foundation, welcomed students, donors and fellow board members to the special event, and then introduced Dr. Joe Barwick, president of Carteret Community College. Invitees listened intently as Dr. Barwick related an experience as a ten-year-old boy where he learned some true lessons in life that would bring success. more...
