The Johnston County Community Foundation is pleased to offer grants from the Community Endowment Fund to non-profit organizations serving Johnston County. Proposals are sought in support of broad charitable purposes in the areas of health and human services, education, the arts, and the conservation and preservation of historical, cultural, and environmental resources. Grants are available for non-profit organizations addressing these needs in the community. The total 2008 grant amount available from the Johnston County Community Fund is $18,200. Typical grant amounts range from $1,000-$2,500.

Frances Finch Hobart Award for Voluntary Community Service
The Johnston County Community Foundation is also pleased to announce the 2008 selections process for the Frances Finch Hobart Award for Voluntary Community Service. This award was established in 2006 to honor Frances Finch Hobart for her commitment to volunteer community service.
The award is presented to an individual from Johnston County who has demonstrated a commitment to voluntary community service to his/her community resulting in a stronger community in which people can live, work and play. This year’s recipient will be publicly recognized during the 2008 Johnston County Community Foundation Awards event and will be asked to select a local non-profit to receive a $750 grant from the Frances Finch Hobart Award for Voluntary Community Service Fund.
