The Alleghany County Community Foundation was established to serve the needs of
local nonprofit organizations, donors and charitable causes. The Alleghany
County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community
Foundation.

Alleghany Memorial Hospital established the Alma Black Alleghany Memorial Hospital Education
Endowment to support the continuing education of its employees.
NAPCO Education and Recreation Endowment
The NAPCO Education and Recreation Endowment is devoted to supporting educational and
recreational programs and activities for the citizens of Alleghany County.
Ryan Anderson Wagoner Scholarship Endowment
This fund provides scholarships for eligible high school graduates of Alleghany County seeking college
degrees in the medical professions, services to the handicapped, or other human services.
Alleghany County Education Fund
The Alleghany County Education Fund supports scholarships, student awards, teaching grants and
other educational needs of Alleghany County.
Alleghany Memorial Library Endowment Fund
This fund provides ongoing support for Alleghany Memorial Library.
Alleghany Opportunity Fund
The Alleghany Opportunity Fund enables the Alleghany County Community Foundation to respond to
changing community needs and to enhance the quality of community life within the county. Donors allow flexibility in how these funds are to be used, leaving the Alleghany County Board of Directors to award grants each year to local nonprofit organizations.
