Unifour Foundation Awards $240,000 in Grants
The Unifour Foundation Endowment Fund awarded a total of $240,000 to thirty Unifour region non-profit organizations on May 30, 2008. Representatives of the Unifour Foundation, Catawba Valley Community Foundation and NCCF attended the grants reception to award the grants and celebrate the projects and programs of the recipient organizations. All of the non-profit organizations were invited to address the audience about their funded projects and programs to encourage a learning opportunity for the groups.
The Unifour Foundation Fund annual grant making is a competitive grant process and since 1999 has awarded more than $1.8 million to the local Unifour communities in Catawba, Caldwell, Burke and Alexander counties. The fund supports organizations that provide programs for human services needs, emergency crisis needs; and that supports environmental, health, educational, cultural, and historical programs and resources.
