Bill Absher Memorial Endowment
The Bill Absher Memorial Endowment provides financial support for the equipment needs of the
Wilkes County Public Library.A prominent member of the Wilkes County business community, one of Absher's most notable achievements was his role in the development of the Wilkes County Public
Library.
James E. and Violet A. Carson Scholarship Endowment
The James E. and Violet A. Carson Scholarship Fund supports students demonstrating financial need
who are accepted by a post-secondary institution. First preference is given to members or children of
members of Cub Creek Baptist Church, Moravian Falls, N.C.; second, to applicants in the Moravian
Falls community; and third, to applicants in Wilkes County at large.
Della Arnold Scholarship Endowment
The Della Arnold Scholarship Endowment provides scholarship support to eligible high school seniors
from Wilkes, Iredell, or Yadkin counties who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need
through the Wilkes Education Foundation, Inc.
The Brushy Mountain Ruritan Club Endowment
The Brushy Mountain Ruritan Club Scholarship Endowment assists a graduate of Wilkes Central High
School, a student who lives in the region but graduated from a school outside the county, or a Brushy
Mountain Ruritan Club member or member's child.
United Way of Wilkes County Endowment
This fund provides for the perpetual general operational support of the United Way of Wilkes County.
Wilkes County Educational Foundation Endowment
The Wilkes County Educational Foundation Endowment is devoted to supporting education in Wilkes
County schools.
Greater Wilkes Community Fund
The Greater Wilkes Community Fund enables the Wilkes Community Foundation to respond to
changing community needs and to enhance the quality of community life within the county. Donors allow flexibility in how these funds are to be used, leaving the local Board of Directors to award grants each
year to nonprofit organizations.
Julia & Blake Lovette Scholarship for the Study of the Sciences
This fund awards scholarships to graduates of West Wilkes High School pursuing a Bachelor of
Science degree in any of the physical, natural or biological sciences, mathematics, engineering,
accounting, or computer sciences from an accredited college or university.
Kyle Hayes Memorial Endowment Fund
Devoted to the support of charitable activities in Wilkes County, the Kyle Hayes Memorial Endowment Fund was established by his secretary and legal assistant for almost 60 years, Ms. Ina Myers. An
attorney, businessman, and community leader, Hayes was instrumental in establishing the Wilkes
Community Foundation. |
