Jackson County Community Foundation

List of Funds

The Jackson County Community Foundation was established to serve the needs of local nonprofit organizations, donors and charitable causes. The Jackson County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation.

Jackson County Schools Gift Fund
This fund supports general needs within the Jackson County School System.
 
Wayne Johnson Scholarship Endowment
This fund provides scholarships for both traditional and non-traditional students attending Western Carolina University or Southwestern Community College.
 
St. David's Endowment
This fund provides ongoing support for St. David's Episcopal Church.
 
United Christian Ministries of Jackson County Endowment
This endowment supports the interdenominational work of the United Christian Ministries of advocacy, crisis intervention, counseling, and empowerment of people in crisis.
 
J. K. Perry Memorial Scholarship Endowment
This fund was established in memory of Ken Perry to provide scholarships for students pursuing an education in an agriculturally-related field.
 
Beverly and Robert Johnson Gift Annuity Agreement

 
Judy Brinson Conseen Fund for Cullowhee Baptist Church
This fund was established by Irene M. and D. Elmer Hooper in memory of their granddaughter, Judy S.  Brinson Conseen.  The fund provides ongoing support for the Cullowhee Baptist Church.
 
Southwestern Child Development Commission Endowment

This fund provides ongoing support for activities that improve the quality of comprehensive child development programs in the area.
 
Good Samaritan Clinic of Jackson County Endowment
This fund supports the operating needs of the Good Samaritan Clinic.
 
Alley Children's Fund Endowment
This fund was established upon the retirement of Betty Gene Alley as Chief Juvenile Court Counselor, 30th Judicial District, for the assistance of troubled children in the seven western North Carolina Counties within this district.
 
Sol & Lillian Schulman Family Endowment for Downtown Sylva

The purpose of this fund is to enhance the downtown area of Sylva, NC through the Sylva Partners In Renewal.
 
Gene Newsom Endowment for R. E. A. C. H.

This fund supports the organization's efforts to stop domestic violence.
 
Sylva Rotary Endowment
This donor-advised fund benefits general charitable purposes.
 
Catch the Spirit of Appalachia Endowment
This fund benefits the support and publishing of writers, artists and craftspeople of Western North Carolina.
 
Jackson County Schools Endowment
This fund was created by Pepsi-Cola and Coca-Cola to allow private donations for the support of general needs within the Jackson County School System.  Donors may specify whether they want their gift to go toward a specific project or the general endowment.
 
Parris Cemetery Fund

This fund was created by the Town of Dillsboro to provide ongoing support for the Parris Cemetery.
 
Jackson County Main Library Fund
This fund provides ongoing support for Jackson County Main Library.
 
Jackson County Unrestricted Endowment Fund
The Jackson County Unrestricted Endowment Fund enables the Jackson County Community Foundation to respond to changing community needs and to enhance the quality of community life within the county.
