The Foundation recognized her with a certificate of appreciation and a $50 gift certificate contributed by Aqua’s Restaurant in Beaufort.

Ms. Gilgo has volunteered with Caroline’s Collectables for more than three years and gives more that 7 hours a week there. Ms. Gilgo also volunteers at the Atlantic Methodist Church, Sea Level Tri-Athalon, Shrinettes and the Ann Street Methodist Church.

Fellow volunteers at Caroline’s Collectables say that Ms. Gilgo is very dedicated and volunteers every week. She works diligently to promote the agency throughout the community and bring community awareness about how Caroline’s Collectable makes a difference in our community.

Glenda Riggs, Executive Director of Carteret County Domestic Violence nominated Ms. Gilgo and praised her, saying “Pat is so loyal to our cause and dedicated to bringing us new business partners to enhance what we do. She is such a hardworking and valuable volunteer.”

Cindi B. Hamilton, Carteret Community Foundation board member, explained the importance of this program. “Our volunteer of the month program gives us the opportunity to recognize the gifts and talents of special people. It is heart-warming to read about these wonderful volunteers and all they do for the county.  It is amazing how one person can and does make a significant difference in our community. We are so proud to recognize Pat Gilgo and we thank her for all her community service. Our hope is that people realize their own talents and are inspired to give their gifts and time back to their county.”
