The Granville County Community Foundation has marked its 15th anniversary of giving grants to non-profits serving citizens of Granville County.
On May 6th at the lake home of Sherby and Janet Slaughter, Board treasurer, Board members and guests gathered to hear a message from North Carolina Community Foundation state Board Chairman James Narron.
“I am sending my warmest congratulations and admiration for your accomplish-ments, and regret I am unable to join you today for the celebration of your 15th anniversary! It has truly been an honor for me to serve as the chairman of the North Carolina Community Foundation, largely because of the significant work that affiliate partners like the Granville County Community Foundation are doing in communities across North Carolina. Your leadership, generosity and vision have had a huge impact on Granville County. Congratulations, and I look forward to the next 15 years!” he wrote.
Jeanne Lawson, Northern Piedmont Regional Associate for the NCCF, congratulated the Board and announced that over its 15 years of service, $96,000 has been distributed through grants and scholarships back to Granville County.
Board members include Xavier L. Wortham, Jim Davis, Dale Hensley, Janet Slaughter, Jim Cross, Everett Byrd, Paige Little, Kathy May, Allan Jordan, Tom Houlihan, Sam Royster, Gerald Lloyd, Harry Mills, Jennifer Adcock, Andrea Entrusick, Stan Fox, Martha Sneed, Dave Williams, and George Ritchie.
