{"title":"NCCF begins allocating from its Disaster Relief Fund to support Hurricane Matthew victims","content":"<p><strong>Harnett County Community Foundation awards more than $3,000 in local dollars<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p><strong><img style=\"vertical-align: middle; margin: 5px auto; display: block;\" src=\"https:\/\/nmcdn.io\/e186d21f8c7946a19faed23c3da2f0da\/295b4aa3caf147538b0a606012c2aae2\/files\/harnett\/Harnett_Disaster_Relief-process-s450x338.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p><br \/>The North Carolina Community Foundation continues to allocate grants from the NCCF Disaster Relief Fund to support recovery efforts related to Hurricane Matthew and flooding in affected areas of the state, according to Rodney E. Martin, chair of NCCF&#8217;s grants committee and a statewide board member.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Harnett County Community Foundation, a local affiliate of NCCF, has distributed $3,679 to date. The board directed the grant to the Dunn United Ministerial Association for Hurricane Matthew disaster relief and recovery in Harnett County; to be spent on food restocking.<\/p>\r\n<p>NCCF&#8217;s Disaster Relief Fund was established to support mid- to long-term, unmet needs. Grants will go directly to nonprofit organizations serving the needs of local communities. NCCF&#8217;s local affiliate foundations serving affected counties determine the nonprofit agencies that can best provide assistance in their areas<\/p>\r\n<p>NCCF has received gifts from across the state, country and even the world, according to NCCF CEO Jennifer Tolle Whiteside. No portion of the funds will be used for the Foundation&#8217;s administrative or operational expenses, an approach NCCF is also encouraging among local grant recipient agencies.<\/p>\r\n<p>&#8220;We are so grateful for the ongoing generosity we continue to witness since we activated the NCCF Disaster Relief Fund,&#8221; Tolle Whiteside said. She said that NCCF especially wanted to acknowledge the generosity of the Tides Foundation, on recommendation of the Google Foundation; AT&amp;T; F.N.B.
