The Hoke County Community Foundation granted $6,200 to local nonprofits from its local grantmaking fund.

This year the board was excited to award an additional $3,500 from the Mary Archie McNeill Endowment for Music and Arts in Hoke County, which went to the Don Steed Elementary School for the “Strumming for History” project. This grant will  provide guitars, cases, picks and music for 4th grade students to learn to play while discussing  musical history and styles.

This year’s grant award ceremony was held at the Raeford Hoke Museum.
