Clyde Harris, who just recently retired from the NCCF statewide board, was acknowledged at the Foundation's quarterly board meeting June 17. NCCF Board Chair Linda Staunch read this formal recognition at the meeting, and the board presented him with a gift of appreciation.
Linda Staunch acknowledgment:
"We would like to recognize Mr. Clyde Harris who rotated off the board in December having served on the board since 1998. Mr. Harris served on the statewide grants committee since 2010. Mr. Harris chaired the Wilson County Community Foundation from its inception in 1997 and has brought countless dollars to the Foundation through his leadership, influence and steadfast persistence.
Mr. Harris has been a strong and involved board member for many years, and the Foundation has benefited greatly from his leadership in Wilson and across the state. The Wilson County affiliate has 23 endowment funds totaling over $5 million! The great majority of that comes from Clyde’s great work.
He continues to be a great advocate for our work, and I hope you will join me in expressing deep appreciation to him for all he has made possible for us."
Harris thanked the board and noted how much his work with the Foundation had meant to him over the past 22 years as a leader on both the statewide and local levels. A resounding round of applause followed his emotional speech.
