The board of advisors of the Onslow Caring Communities Foundation announces $33,600 in awards from its community grantmaking fund.

This year’s nonprofit recipients include:

  • Autism Society of North Carolina for 2016 Camp Royall program scholarships
  • Brigade Boys and Girls Clubs for training for Onslow County staff
  • City of Jacksonville for HARMONY Youth Grants Board Philanthropy Initiative
  • Girl Scouts NC Coastal Pines for Girl Scout Summer Leadership Camp
  • Healing Household 6 for Wounded Warrior Family Services
  • Muscular Dystrophy Association for MDA Summer Camp
  • Philippians Place for transitional housing
  • Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Star Pupils Onslow County
  • United Way of Onslow County for Volunteer Onslow
  • Onslow County Partners for Animal Welfare for spay/neuter vouchers
  • Possumwood Acres Wildlife Sanctuary for Come find your CENTER

Debbi Ray Rouse, board president, thanked the community for support of the Onslow Caring Communities Foundation. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” she said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported Onslow County’s community fund.”
