The Onslow Caring Communities Foundation’s 2014 grant cycle opens on Friday, March 21, and the board invites nonprofits to complete an application for support of initiatives that benefit the people of Onslow County.  Since 2001, the Foundation has made more than $172,000 in grants to local nonprofits.

The Foundation is seeking proposals from Onslow County nonprofit organizations in support of broad charitable purposes in the areas of arts and humanities, education, the environment, health, human services, public and societal benefit, youth development and race relations.  Strong consideration will be given to projects that build charitable capacity for the non-profit through such efforts as board training, staff development, strategic planning, and efforts that promote sustainable funding for the organization.  Collaborative efforts are strongly encouraged.  Grants are not available for capital campaigns, capital improvements or for individuals.

Grant applications are available on the Onslow Caring Communities Foundation website, http://nccf.gethifi.com/onslowThe Foundation will only accept online applications, and the deadline is Tuesday, April 29.

The Onslow Caring Communities Foundation will host a grantseekers’ workshop on Tuesday, March 25, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., in Jacksonville City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC.  The workshop is free, but seating is limited, so attendees should arrive promptly.
