Grants awarded
Three local organizations were awarded a total of $2,280 from the Alleghany Opportunity Fund, the grantmaking fund of the Alleghany County Community Foundation (ACCF). Representatives from the nonprofit organizations were presented checks during the Alleghany County Chamber of Commerce After Hours hosted by the ACCF at the Senior Center on July 16. Those groups awarded grants and their projects are:

This marks the seventh year of grantmaking for the ACCF. During that time, more than $11,000 has been awarded to deserving nonprofit organizations serving Alleghany County through an annual competitive grantmaking process.
