Next in our Scholar Spotlight series is Leighanne Davis from Moyock. Leighanne is a recipient of the T. Baxter Williams, Jr. Scholarship and graduated from Currituck County High School. She is a first-generation college student and attends North Carolina State University as a biomedical engineering major.
Leighanne has always had an interest in the medical field. This was heightened when her mother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Although only in the 5th grade at the time, Leighanne decided she wanted to design prosthetic devices to help people with physical disabilities. She is excited to take advantage of the opportunities for research and hands-on experience that NCSU provides for her.
The NCCF congratulates Leighanne!
Scholarship recipients who would like to be featured in our Scholar Spotlight should email a picture of themselves and brief biographical information to Leslie Ann Jackson.
