Nonprofit partner

Urban Ministries of Wake County is a nonprofit that addresses basic human needs to help alleviate the effects of poverty. The agency provides food, shelter and healthcare to qualified residents in need, while offering programs to encourage self-sufficiency. Urban Ministries received $49,500 in 2009 from the Wake County Women’s Giving Network, a program of the NCCF, to provide access to health care in a “medical home” model for low-income, uninsured minority women.
