List of funds

The Onslow Caring Communities Foundation was established to serve the needs of local nonprofit organizations, donors and charitable causes. The Onslow Caring Communities Foundation is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation. 

Big Brothers Big Sisters Endowment for Onslow County
This fund supports the Onslow County activities of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Southeastern NC.

Caring Community Clinic Endowment
This fund provides for the ongoing support of Onslow Community Ministries' Caring Community Clinic.

Caring Community Heroes Endowment
The purpose of this fund is to support efforts that develop a caring and benevolent community, and that help to produce local community heroes.

Alice C. and James C. Green Endowment Fund
This donor-advised fund benefits general charitable purposes.

Hubert and Evelyn Hargett Endowment
The purpose of this fund is to promote and develop a caring and benevolent community.

K. B. Hurst Endowment for the Onslow County Museum
This fund provides for the ongoing support of the Onslow County Museum.

Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission Endowment
The purpose of this fund is to support the work of the Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission in its effort to develop, promote and organize sporting events in the Jacksonville-Onslow County Area.

Lids 4 Kids Foundation Endowment
This fund provides for the ongoing support of the Lids4Kids Foundation, Inc.

Marine Corps Museum of the Carolinas Operating Endowment
The purpose of this fund is to support the operating budget of the Marine Corp Museum in Jacksonville, NC.

Martin Family Endowment
This donor-advised fund benefits general charitable purposes.

Onslow Caring Communities Foundation Unrestricted Endowment
The Onslow Caring Communities Foundation Unrestricted Endowment enables the Onslow Caring Communities Foundation to respond to changing community needs and to enhance the quality of community life within the county. Donors allow flexibility in how these funds are to be used, leaving the Onslow County Board of Directors to award grants each year to local nonprofit organizations.

Onslow Community Outreach Endowment
The purpose of this fund is to support Onslow Community Outreach of Jacksonville, NC.

Onslow County Public Library Endowment
This fund provides for the ongoing support of the Onslow County Public Library.

Onslow County United Way Endowment
This fund provides for the ongoing operating support of the Onslow County United Way.

Onslow Memorial Hospital Foundation Endowment
This fund provides for ongoing support of the Onslow Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Osprey Pioneers Memorial Scholarship Endowment
This fund provides scholarships for graduates of Jacksonville Senior High School.

Project CARE Jacksonville/Onslow Endowment
The purpose of this fund is to provide assistance for community/military and military family needs on an ongoing basis in the Jacksonville/Onslow county area.

Richard L. Ray Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships for students who are a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, NC.

Sponsors For Academic Talent Endowment
This fund benefits SAT, Inc. in its efforts to encourage academic and community achievement by Onslow County high school students.

USO of North Carolina, Inc.
The purpose of this fund is to support the activities of the USO.

  • 2012 Onslow grant applications due April 27

    The Onslow Caring Communities Foundation’s 2012 grant application are due by Friday, April 27. Since 2001, the Foundation has made more than $160,000 in grants to local nonprofits that benefit the people of Onslow County.

Checks can be mailed to the NCCF headquarters office in Raleigh at 4601 Six Forks Road, Suite 524, Raleigh, NC 27609. Please designate your gift for Hurricane Irene victims.
