The 2012 grant application period for the Watauga County Community Foundation will be open from February 23, 2012 to April 13, 2012. Grants typically range from $500 to $2000. Total grantmaking in 2012 will not exceed $12,000.

The WCCF awarded grants to 15 deserving nonprofit organizations serving Watauga County through its annual competitive grant cycle from the Watauga Legacy Fund and the Armfield and Rachel Rivers Coffey Memorial Endowment.
Stephanie Allen, president of the Boone Service League, and President-Elect Jackie Dyer received the award from Bettie Bond, WCCF board president.
