The Wayne County Community Foundation was established to serve the needs of local nonprofit organizations, donors and charitable causes. The Wayne County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation.

This fund provides support for Mount Olive College's scholarship programs.

The Wayne County Unrestricted Endowment Fund enables the Wayne County Community Foundation to respond to changing community needs and to enhance the quality of community life within the county. Donors allow flexibility in how these funds are to be used, leaving the Wayne County Board of Directors to award grants each year to local nonprofit organizations.

The purpose of this fund is to support general charitable projects in Wayne County and surrounding areas.
