The board of advisors of the Futrell-Mauldin Community Foundation for Greater Rocky Mount announces the return of the Tar River Food & Wine Festival.
The Festival will be held at Rose Hill Plantation from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 27 and will feature an elegant evening filled with food, wine and jazz. Tickets are on sale at tarriverwinefestival.com and include a tasting glass to sample North Carolina wines and selections from beyond the state. A full listing of participating food, wine and craft beer providers is available at tarriverwinefestival.com.
“The Tar River Food & Wine Festival is one of the preeminent charitable events in eastern North Carolina, raising approximately $35,000 each year,” said Turnage. “Proceeds from the Festival are used to build the Futrell-Mauldin Community Grantmaking Fund, which grants over $50,000 to nonprofits in the greater Rocky Mount area each year.”
The board would like to thank this year’s sponsors: Boddie Noell Enterprises, Inc.; Davenport Autopark; Carney & Company; Patricia Mauldin; Poyner Spruill, LLP; Whitener Capital Management, Inc; Billie and Richard Futrell; Daughtridge Sales Company; Jolley Asset Management, LLC; Rocky Mount Mills; Celeste and William Pittman; Beth and John Turnage; Vinson Landscaping; Bulluck’s Fine Furniture; Anita and Kevin Harris; and Kara Cox.
