The Women’s Impact Network (WIN), a Wilmington women’s philanthropy group, seeks to award its 2016 annual grant to a New Hanover County environmental nonprofit. It is estimated that the grant amount will be about $30,000.

Over the last four years, WIN has awarded over $100,000 to nonprofits in New Hanover County in the areas of education and the arts. For 2016, WIN will seek grant applications relating to environmental causes.

“Our members decided recently to focus on the environment for 2016,” said Susan Henley, Chair of the Grants Committee. “This represents a new area for us and we want to reach out to all relevant local nonprofits to alert them to our intentions,” she said.

The official Letters of Intent from the grants committee will be mailed to interested nonprofits in mid-March, and responses will be due April 30th.

Grant applications will be available to semi-finalists July 1st and grant applications will be due July 30th. The award is announced in early September.

Any local nonprofit seeking to impact an environmental cause is welcome to contact WIN for more information. Grants chair Susan Henley can be contacted at shenley2@ec.rr.com.
