Fund members use a collaborative decision-making process to provide grants to eligible nonprofits. Criteria include, but are not limited to:

  • Be located and provide services in one of the four counties of the Triangle: Chatham, Durham, Orange and/or Wake;
  • Qualify as tax-exempt under section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code (fiscal agent) or be classified as a unit of government; and
  • Not discriminate on the basis of age, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, physical ability, sexual orientation, political affiliation or religious organization that serves exclusively sectarian purposes.

Each year, TAG selects a topic area on which to focus grant requests.

The Art of Giving will not be awarding in 2016, as the group is working on building its membership and refining its grantmaking process to best meet community needs in the future. Please check back in 2017 for more details.

For questions about the grants process, please email Sarah Battersby, Triangle Community Foundation Scholarships & Donor Services Officer, or call 919.474.8370 ext:4015.
