The board of advisors of the Wake County Community Foundation announces $9,400 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund.

This year’s nonprofit recipients include:

  • $750 to The Daniel Center for Math and Science for general operating support
  • $750 to Helping Horse, Inc for therapeutic riding lessons
  • $760 to Dorothy Mae Hall Women's Center for the diaper projects
  • $1,500 to Community Helpers Service Center, Inc. for the food pantry
  • $1,000 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Star Pupils Wake County
  • $1,590 to With Love From Jesus Ministries for the food pantry
  • $1,000 to Apex Immigration Services, Inc. for Wake County Immigration Legal Assistance
  • $50 to Mojoaa Performing Arts Company for general operating support
  • $750 to Shepherd Youth Ranch for the Distinguished Riders Family Care Team
  • $1,250 to The Carying Place, Inc for the Transitional Housing & Life/Financial Skills Program for homeless, working families with children

Randy Cagan, board president, thanked the community for its support of the Wake County Community Foundation. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” he said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported Wake County’s community fund.”
