The Yadkin River Greenway Council is a non-profit, 501 (C) 3, organization and provides coordination and leadership in the expansion and maintenance of the Greenway.

The Wilkes Community Foundation (WCF) is an affiliate of the statewide North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF). WCF was created in 1993 and has 12 endowment funds including four scholarship funds. So far in 2013, these funds have awarded nearly $30,000 in grants and scholarships to Wilkes County nonprofit organizations and students.
