Wilkes Adult Developmental Activity Program, Inc. (ADAP) was selected to receive a $500 grant from the Greater Wilkes Community Fund.
This grant was made possible through a recommendation from the board of the Wilkes County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation.
The “Wilkes Works” janitorial crew will use this grant money to purchase an industrial vacuum cleaner. “Wilkes Works” is the name of ADAP’s work crew as it renders vocational training and provides services in the community. Currently, the crew cleans and maintains eight different offices, churches and other sites. The workers are continuously being trained at each site. ADAP serves 38 workers and provides quality service on a daily basis.
The mission of Wilkes ADAP, Inc. is to provide the necessary services and supports to enable adults with developmental disabilities to become full participating members of the community.
