Operations Support Specialist

The North Carolina Community Foundation is the only statewide community foundation serving North Carolina and has administered more than $243 million in grants since our inception in 1988. With $440 million in assets, NCCF sustains more than 1,200 endowments and partners with a network of affiliates to award grants and scholarships across the state. An important component of NCCF’s mission is to ensure that rural philanthropy has a voice at the local, regional, and national levels.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill operations support specialist positions.

Summary: 

Operations Support Specialists provide a range of administrative and clerical duties, supporting finance, development, donor engagement, community leadership, community investment, grantmaking, marketing and communications functions. These full-time positions are based at NCCF’s headquarters in Raleigh with flexibility to work remotely, although some in-person work will be required. Operations Support Specialists will be assigned to teams, will report to functional area supervisors and will also be trained as needed, to support cross functional efforts. Candidates filling these roles should embrace and model values of diversity, equity, and inclusion across all NCCF operations as we advance our mission.

Core responsibilities include:
  • Providing administrative support for finance, development, donor engagement, community leadership, community investment, grantmaking, marketing and communications team members
  • Managing data input, reporting and data management, working with primary CRM, web, portal and various database tools
  • Providing or supporting inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting administrative needs in association with third- party technology partners
  • Providing end user system support and first level trouble shooting for on-site, virtual and hybrid collaboration
  • Contributing to internal process documentation
  • Willingness to provide or coordinate training
  • Contributing to cross functional projects
  • Serving as a shared resource for greeting and supporting visitors, processing mail, gift entry, new fund administration, answering incoming inquiries to the main office phone line and other administrative duties on rotation or as needed
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Proficiency with MS Office, CRM/database, collaboration, and presentation tools
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality outputs
  • Ability to manage varying priorities
  • Willingness to support innovation and development to improve effectiveness and efficiency
  • Critical thinking to assess process improvement opportunities
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences
  • Willingness to travel to the Raleigh office as needed
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree or three years’ relevant experience
