Our Benefits

The North Carolina Community Foundation offers an excellent benefits package for employees who regularly work a minimum of 30 hours per week.

  • Medical Insurance: NCCF pays 100% of the premium cost of employee coverage. Employees can also add coverage for their spouse and dependents up to age 26.
  • Dental Insurance: NCCF pays 100% of the premium cost for employee coverage. This plan covers 100% preventative services, 80%/50% for basic/major services, to a $1,000 maximum per plan year.
  • Health Savings Account: Employees participating in the health plan are eligible to participate in the HSA program. NCCF contributes $1,000 per year per participant, and you may also contribute up to the regulatory cap. Your contributions are pre-tax and any withdrawals from the program are tax free. Any accumulated amount remaining in the program at the end of the year automatically rolls over tax free to the next year.
  • 403b Saving and Company Matching Plan: A 403b plan, also known as a tax-sheltered annuity (TSA) plan, is a retirement plan for tax-exempt organizations similar to a 401(k). Employees are eligible to participate immediately upon their hire date and are immediately vested. NCCF automatically contributes 4% of an employee’s gross salary. NCCF also provides a match of 50% up to 4% of an employee’s own salary deferral contribution.

Leave

  • Sick leave is earned at one day per month, effective immediately.
  • Vacation leave is earned according to years of service, starting at 12 days annually.
  • NCCF offers 15.5 annual paid holidays and will pay employees for up to 7 hours per year for volunteer service leave.
