The Wayne County Community Foundation is a growing family of philanthropic funds, source of grants for local causes and partner for donors. WCCF was founded in 1998 and is led by a local volunteer advisory board that helps build community assets through the creation of permanent endowments, makes grants and leverages leadership – all for the benefit of Wayne County.

In lieu of a traditional grant process, the Wayne County Community Foundation will be directing all funding towards identifed community needs.

Grants Awarded
The Wayne County Community Foundation awarded $1,500 grants from its community grantmaking fund to the following local nonprofits:
- $500 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County for general operating support
- $500 to Kinetic Minds for general operating support
- $500 to Foundation of Wayne Community Collect for continued support of the WIOA Youth Program
2023 grants awarded
The Wayne County Community Foundation has awarded $1,250 through its community grants program to the Foundation of Wayne Community College for the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) Youth Program in memory of local educator Ed Wilson.

The Wayne County Community Foundation was awarded $33,750 in recovery grants from the North Carolina Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund to support long-term recovery from Hurricane Florence.

The Wayne County Community Foundation has awarded $1,100 through its community grants program to local nonprofit organizations, including:
- Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne
- Mephibosheth Project Inc (MPI)
