She graduated from Starmount High School and attends Liberty University. She loves helping others and has served as a volunteer firefighter since she was in high school.<\/p>\r\n<p>Brittney plans to devote her life to a service career by becoming a critical-care nurse. She turned down offers to play college soccer at several schools because the institutions did not offer nursing programs.<\/p>\r\n<p>Brittney is a first-generation college student who is paying for college herself, so she is extremely grateful to receive this scholarship.<\/p>","excerpt":"","media":0,"custom":{"scholar_spotlight":{"snippet":"Brittney Casstevens from Jonesville is a recipient of the Hubert Lewis Phillips and Pearl Shermer Phillips Scholarship.
