James "Graff" Wilson

The next student in our Scholar Spotlight series is James “Graff” Wilson from Tarboro, recipient of the Mary Ferebee Howard Scholarship. James graduated from Tarboro High School and now attends Sewanee: The University of the South in Tennessee.

James is an avid outdoorsman and is looking forward to exploring the rich natural areas that surround the university. He is also excited about the academic opportunities provided by Sewanee, especially the pre-law program, which will help him reach his goal of attending law school.

James plans to use his education to help the less fortunate and wants to make a difference both in the United States and abroad. In fact, he has already made a difference by travelling to Zambia with World Vision International, a humanitarian aid organization. “Regardless of where life after college takes me, I will be eternally grateful for the kindness and generosity shown to me in receiving this scholarship,” he said.
