That conviction led her to obtain her Certified Nursing Assistant credentials as a high school student.<\/p>\r\n<p>At Sandhills, Mendoza is working hard to leverage her experience and become a registered nurse.<\/p>\r\n<p>Being the first in her family to go to college has influenced Mendoza greatly.
