Taye Elima is a graduate of Cary High School and is attending Appalachian State University in the fall.

Elima chose to attend Appalachian State because of its beautiful location and highly regarded study abroad program.

“Appalachian State works hard to make sure that their students are critically expanding their learning,” said Elima. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to travel abroad and learn about different cultures, languages and religions.”

At Appalachian State, Elima hopes to incorporate her interest in working with children and her love for computers in to her academic career.

Elima expressed her gratitude for receiving the Katie Dunn Rogers Scholarship. “I am extremely honored and humbled to be a recipient of this scholarship,” said Elima. “I will make sure that I continue this legacy of hard work and determination and become a role model in my community.”
