Tanner Wittig

Tanner Wittig is a graduate of South West Edgecombe High School and will attend East Carolina University in the fall.

Wittig intends to study Criminal Justice before pursuing his goal of joining the United States Coast Guard as a Maritime Enforcement Specialist. Firmly believing in the importance of protecting the freedoms of Americans, Wittig ultimately aims to work in law enforcement at the federal level.

The Air Force values of integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do are guiding lights for Wittig, whose passion for law enforcement and serving his country were solidified by participating in the AFJROTC program at his high school.

Wittig is a recipient of the McBryde Scholarship, the Superintendent Lee R. and LaVelle Parker Hall Scholarship and the Mary Ferebee Howard Scholarship. “I can’t think of a better way to show my gratitude than by continuing to excel in the classroom and serving the community where I live. It is certainly an honor and privilege to represent the Mary Ferebee Howard scholarship foundation while attending East Carolina University.”
