This year's Tar River Food & Wine Festival another success!

It is 12:24 a.m., technically the morning after the Tar River Food & Wine Festival, the signature fundraising event for the Futrell-Mauldin Community Foundation for Greater Rocky Mount.
I’ve been stalking Facebook for pictures from the event … and there are some great ones! Great photos of food, people laughing and smiling, and of course, you can’t get a prettier backdrop than our host venue, Rose Hill.
On the surface, the Tar River Food & Wine Festival looks like a great big fabulous party, and it is! There is food, wine, craft beer, music … but it goes so much deeper than that. This is a party with a purpose. That purpose is to raise money for the endowment fund that provides grant dollars to a variety of nonprofit organizations in the Greater Rocky Mount Area. The Futrell-Mauldin Community Foundation has granted more than $650,000 to local charities that provide everything from human services to education to health and wellness and the arts, to name a few.
Like all parties, this one takes a lot of work. It couldn’t happen without our amazing event committee, our generous sponsors, our talented and awesome vendors and our supporters. It truly is a toast to our community.
Cheers.
