The boards of the Bertie-Hertford Community Foundation and Bertie-HertfordWomen’s Fund announce local grant awards.
This year’s nonprofit recipients include:
$740 to the Ahoskie Food Pantry for general operating support
$1,500 to the Ahoskie Food Pantry for the Power Pack Ministry program
$1,000 to the Good Shepherd Food Pantry of Bertie County for peanut butter
$1,000 to the NC Cooperative Extension for 4-H Residential Camp
$2,000 to Roanoke Chowan Christian Women's Job Corps for the A Hand Up Not a Hand Out program
$1,500 to Youth Bertie Backpack Program for general operating support
Penny Rose, Women’s Fund president, thanked the community for its support of the Bertie-Hertford Community Foundation. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” she said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported Bertie-Hertford’s community fund.”
