Currituck-Dare Community Foundation and Women’s Fund award more than $20,000 in 2016 local grants

The boards of advisors of the Currituck-Dare Community Foundation and Women’s Fund announce more than $20,000 in local grant awards.

This year’s CDCF community grantmaking fund recipients include:

  • $2,000 to Albemarle Commission Senior Nutrition Program for Meals on Wheels- Dare County
  • $1,000 to Albemarle Hopeline
  • $1,000 to Dare County Department of Health and Human Services for limited English proficiency printed orientation resources in Dare County
  • $1,000 to the Dare Education Foundation General Operating Support
  • $1,500 to Food for Thought Inc. for Fresh Fruit Builds Healthy Bodies & Minds
  • $1,500 to Interfaith Community Outreach, Inc. for human services and cancer outreach
  • $1,000 to Just Enough Fund for its annual Pink Drink Party Fund Raiser
  • $1,000 to Kids First, Inc. for evidence-based evaluation and treatment program
  • $2,000 to Lower Currituck Food Pantry
  • $1,268 to Mano al Hermano for general operating support
  • $1,500 to OBX Room In The Inn for support For homeless In Dare County
  • $2,000 to Outer Banks Hotline for P.E.A.C.E. Warriors and "Be the Change" Workshops
  • $803 to The Outer Banks Chorus for choral concert chairs
  • $1,000 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Star Pupils Currituck

This year’s Women’s Fund grant recipients include:

  • $500 to Albemarle Hopeline
  • $500 to Interfaith Community Outreach, Inc. for human services and cancer outreach
  • $988 to Kids First, Inc. for evidence-based evaluation and treatment program
  • $500 to Outer Banks Hotline for creating safe spaces

Loismary Hoehne, Women’s Fund co-chair, thanked the community for its support. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” she said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations.”
