Moore Women in planning stages for past year

Women’s giving has a strong tradition in North Carolina, and Moore County is no exception. Giving circles that leverage the power of collective giving are on the rise.

A group made up of several women who are leaders in the Moore County community have been working behind the scenes to make Moore Women – A Giving Circle a reality.

The group is pleased to already be in a position to announce its first grants cycle, which will take place later this summer. The grants process will be Aug. 15-Sept. 16 at noon. Nonprofit groups serving programs for women and/or children may apply online at that time. Online grants applications will not be available until Aug. 15.

The power of collective giving fuels important grants in many of our communities across the state, according to Mary Ann Howard, NCCF regional associate for the Sandhills. “The Moore County community is known for its generosity,” she said. “And leadership has always been a strong hallmark here as well.”

Email Howard or call her at 919-256-6924 for further information about joining Moore Women or applying for grants.
