NCCF accepting grant applications to Statewide Women’s Fund

RALEIGH -- The North Carolina Community Foundation is now accepting grant applications for projects funded from its Statewide Women’s Fund, according to Jennifer Tolle Whiteside, NCCF president and CEO.

Funds are available for nonprofit organizations that sponsor programming that supports women and/or families, with particular emphasis on women’s health and leadership issues. Programs must serve areas within the NCCF’s 67-county service area.

Applications will be accepted online only at nccommunityfoundation.org. The application period begins July 18 and closes at noon on Sept. 9.  Information and training tools about using the online application are also available on NCCF’s website. Specific applicant criteria are also available online under Programs/Women/Statewide Women’s Fund.

This year the fund will award a total of $11,000. Grant amounts typically range from $1,000 to $3,000. Grant recipients will be informed of the grants committee's decisions no later than October 2014. Those with questions about the application process can email Leslie Ann Jackson, NCCF director of grants and scholarships.

The grants committee of the statewide Women’s Fund is comprised of representatives of the NCCF’s local women’s giving networks and other female community leaders from across North Carolina. NCCF supports nine regionally based giving programs across the state, including the Bertie-Hertford Women’s Fund; Women Givers of Northeast North Carolina (Camden, Gates, Pasquotank and Perquimans counties); the Currituck-Dare Women’s Fund; the Women’s Giving Network of Wake County; Triangle Art of Giving in conjunction with the Triangle Community Foundation; the Women Givers of Nash-Rocky Mount; the Women’s Impact Network in New Hanover County; the Cary Women’s Giving Network; and Moore Women – A Giving Circle.
