Graham County Community Foundation awards $2,500 in grants

The Graham County Community Foundation (GCCF) has awarded $2,500 in grants to programs supporting the local community.

The board of advisors granted:

  • $500 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina for its Igniting the Power of Youth program
  • $500 to HIGHTS for transportation costs for its mediation services program
  • $1,000 to the Hospice House Foundation of WNC for general operating expenses
  • $500 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for its Star Pupils program in Graham County

Funds for the grants came from GCCF’s community grantmaking fund.

“We’re proud to support and provide grants to these organizations that are meeting critical local needs every day,” said Brady Cody, advisory board president of the Graham County Community Foundation.

GCCF is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation and is led by a local volunteer advisory board. Each year, GCCF uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to local nonprofit organizations.
