Johnston County Community Foundation awards more than $40,000 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Johnston County Community Foundation announces $40,890 in local awards from its community grantmaking fund.

This year the board will grant:

  • $2,000 to the Autism Society of North Carolina for 2018 Camp Royall program scholarships
  • $2,500 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne/Johnston Counties for the Street SMART program
  • $4,330 to Community & Senior Services of Johnston County, Inc. for document shredders to protect senior citizens from identity theft and scams
  • $2,500 to Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines for camp opportunities for Johnston County Girl Scouts
  • $4,000 to Harbor, Inc for the Safe Space program
  • $2,500 to Johnston County Animal Protection League, Inc. for the spay/neuter project continuation
  • $3,000 to Johnston County Arts Council, Inc. for the Artists-in-the-Schools program
  • $3,060 to Johnston County Industries, Inc. for the We Can Work & Eat Healthy Too! program
  • $3,000 to Johnston County Youth Services, Inc. for general operating support
  • $3,000 to the Me Fine Foundation, Inc. for Me Fine Foundation family financial assistance services
  • $1,000 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association for the summer camp program
  • $2,500 to Partnership for Children of Johnston County for the Partnership for Children of Johnston County Discovery Center
  • $1,500 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for the Star Pupils Johnston County program
  • $1,000 to Reach Out and Read for Reach Out and Read- Johnston County
  • $2,500 to the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill for the Johnston County Cares Fund
  • $2,500 to With Love From Jesus Ministries for the Food Pantry program

Margaret DiNubila, board president, thanked the community for its support of the Johnston County Community Foundation. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so important to our community,” she said. “We are grateful to the many generous individuals and organizations that have supported the Johnston County Community Foundation and our work to inspire philanthropy across our community.”
