The Board of Directors of the Franklin County Community Foundation is currently accepting grant applications for community projects funded from its community fund, according to Bob Powell, Grants Committee Chairman.
Funds are available for nonprofit organizations that serve Franklin County. Priority will be given to programs that target the needs brought on by the ongoing economic downturn. Grant money is available for non-profit, tax-exempt organizations addressing these needs in Franklin County.
“Supporting the non-profits in our area is so important, now more than ever,” said Powell. “We’re so proud that this community fund can continue to distribute grant money regardless of the economic conditions.”
Applications are available at www.nccommunityfoundation.org (under “Affiliates” then “Franklin County.” The deadline for submitting applications is April 30. Total grant making will not exceed $1,000.
The Franklin County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation. The community fund was established to help support local charitable needs through annual grants. In addition to Powell, Franklin County Community Foundation board members are: Al Wheless, Darnell Batton; Bryan Cash; Dr. Diane Fleming; Holt Kornegay; Darrell Smith; Jeff Thompson; Ruth Wheless;Robert Poole, Rachel Monteverdi, Joe Olivieri, and Paris Branch-Ramadan.
