The Northern Albemarle Community Foundation announces the establishment of the John & Betty Crawford Endowment with the Perquimans County Schools Foundation.
This fund supports Perquimans County Schools with a $1,000 scholarship that can be awarded to a graduating senior at Perquimans High School on an annual basis.
“The Perquimans County Schools Foundation appreciates the opportunity to partner with the Northern Albemarle Community Foundation to create the John & Betty Crawford Endowment,” said Brenda Lassiter, executive director of the Perquimans County Schools Foundation. “Our board appreciates and applauds the fact that Dr. and Mrs. Crawford elected to support our efforts. An investment in the Foundation is not only an investment in improving public education, but also an investment in the future of Perquimans County.”
Phyllis Bosomworth, board president, thanked John and Betty Crawford for their support of the local community. “The John & Betty Crawford Endowment with the Perquimans County Schools Foundation is the latest example of the Northern Albemarle Community Foundation sowing the seeds that will grow to benefit the local community in innumerable ways in the decades to come,” Bosomworth said. “Generous donors, such as John and Betty Crawford, have come forward to begin endowments for their chosen causes and institutions, and their important work will continue in perpetuity. But our community has many other needs, and there is much to be done to ensure that our beautiful, remarkable counties will remain vibrant into the future.”
