Permanent, full-time resident of Carteret County – for at least twelve months prior to the awarding of this Scholarship – who was born in Carteret County and graduated from a Carteret County high school or received a high school equivalency certificate; who is enrolled or will be enrolled full-time in an institution of higher learning. Special consideration may be given to applicants planning to pursue a major in Marine Science or Theology with the purpose of entering seminary to be ordained as a clergy. Considerations in the selection of the recipient will be academic achievement, community involvement, leadership and moral character. Note: Applicants must submit a copy of their birth certificate in order to verify birth in Carteret County.
