Other NCCF Scholarships

While most of our scholarships use the NCCF Universal Scholarships Application, we also have about 20 scholarships that have separate application processes. Bill Taylor Scholarship Endowment        

Enrolled members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians or their spouses, children, or other immediate family members pursuing a degree in Business Administration or a business-related curriculum.

Brandon Stiwinter Memorial Scholarship Endowment   

Graduating student of Franklin High School who has participated in any Franklin High School sport, demonstrated athletic excellence, and worked hard to improve his or her natural talents.  The recipient may be an average student but is committed to continuing education and is an enthusiastic team member who encourages teammates to strive for excellence.

C. Reid Ross Rotary Scholarship Endowment

Open to graduating senior(s) of Harnett Central High School and Western Harnett High School.

CASL Scholarship Fund in Memory of Lane Meyer

Eligible applicants are high school seniors who are current participants with the Capital Area Soccer League ("CASL") at the Challenge Level and above, who exemplify Lane Meyer's legacy of excellence and achievement in academics, soccer skills, sportsmanship, friendships, and school and community involvement, and who build spirit on the athletic field as Lane Meyer did as a CASL soccer player.

Dr. Henderson D. Mabe Jr. Scholarship Endowment Fund                           

  • Scholarship Criteria for Undergraduate Students: Scholarships are available for graduates or graduating seniors from a Harnett County high school, who are attending a college, university, community or junior college, technical school, nursing school, or other post-high school training, pursuing a degree or a certificate in the medical fields, such as nursing, medical technology, radiology technology, pharmacy, and other curricula focusing on medical services. Preference is given to those living in or around Erwin, North Carolina, and to those who have a financial need. PLEASE NOTE: Applicants are also asked to include a listing of other scholarship applied for and/or received.
  • Scholarship Criteria for Medical School Students: Scholarships are available for graduates of a college or university who graduated from a Harnett County high school and are now a full-time medical student at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, Duke University School of Medicine, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, or Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Preference is given to those whose residence was in or around Erwin, North Carolina, and to those who demonstrate financial need.

F.H. "Sammy" Ross Jr. and Gary "GJ" Johnston Memorial Scholarship     

Eligible applicants are Linville Ridge employees, children whose parents or legal guardians are employed by Linville Ridge, grandchildren of Linville Ridge employees, and children of retired Linville Ridge employees that were employed a minimum of 3+ years. Applicants should have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be enrolled for a minimum of 12 semester hours at an accredited institution of higher education. Scholarship is eligible for renewal, but it is not automatic. 

Highlands Country Club Scholarship Fund           

Individuals between the ages of 16 and 25 who have received or are expecting to receive a high school degree or its equivalent and who have worked a minimum of two complete seasons at Highlands Country Club, or are children of an employee of Highlands Country Club who has worked a minimum of two complete seasons at Highlands Country Club; who are enrolled full time in undergraduate studies at a two-year or four-year accredited community college or college or university; and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Recipient(s) will be chosen on the basis of academic achievement, school and community activities, motivation and leadership. Financial need may also be taken into consideration.

Judy Moore Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Students currently involved in a nursing curriculum with a preference for students who are residents of or employees in Macon County. Applicants will be judged on scholastic and leadership ability and demonstrated financial need.

Lane Meyer Scholarship Fund   

Eligible students must exemplify Lane Meyer's legacy of excellence and achievement in academics, athletics, friendships, and community service. Special emphasis will be given to students who excel in academics, soccer skills and sportsmanship, school and community involvement. Students will be selected from Wake Forest-Rolesville High School and must be members of the Wake Forest-rolesville High School Varsity Soccer Team.  Eligible students will be those who build spirit in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in the school community.

Mountaintop Scholarship Fund  

Persons eligible to receive scholarships shall possess the following qualifications: Current and former employees of Mountaintop Golf and Lake Club, and dependents of current employees of Mountaintop Golf and Lake Club who plan to pursue a degree on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 hours enrolled) at one of the following: 1) 2-year community college; 2) a four-year college or university; or 3) a 2-year or 4-year specialty school related to the hospitality field of study such as a culinary school. Scholarship applicants will be evaluated based on criteria including, but not limited to, demonstrated financial need, academic performance, and other considerations such as extra-curricular activities. Funds from the Scholarship Endowment may be used to pay tuition, fees, and other costs related to education including room and board.

Peter S. Slomianyj Scholarship Fund

Subway employees or children of Subway employees who have worked at least 500 hours over the last 12 months. Students must have a 2.0 GPA in high school or a 2.5 GPA in college.

Priscilla Anne Edwards Scholarship Endowment               

Graduating female athletes participating in softball and/or volleyball in high schools in Lee County, whose deep Christian faith closely exemplify the life and witness of Priscilla Anne Edwards.  Recipients must possess an encouraging and winning attitude in sports and in the classroom and be considered leaders on and off the field.

Raleigh Alumnae Delta Scholarship Endowment              

Successful and active participation in the programs of the Raleigh Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.  School and community activities, academic performance, service, special achievements and recommendations are all considered by the committee.

Raleigh Alumnae Delta Scholarship Endowment for Non-Traditional Students    

Non-traditional students planning to attend a two-year or four-year college, university or technical certification program who did not finish college or never attended college. Special consideration will be given to Black/African American women ages 30 years and above.

Robert E. Barnhill Sr. Scholarship Fund                 

High-school graduate who is a North Carolina resident and is attending a college or university.  Considered are leadership potential, community involvement, physical vigor, academic achievement and financial need. Special consideration is given to employees/relatives of employees of Barnhill Contracting Company.

The Leland Speed Scholarship Endowment         

Individuals between the ages of 16 and 25 who have received or are expecting to receive a high school degree or its equivalent who have worked a minimum of one complete season at Highland Falls Country Club, located in Highlands, North Carolina or is the child of a Club employee who has worked a minimum of one complete season at the Club. The applicant must be enrolled full-time in undergraduate studies at a two-year or four-year accredited community college, college, or university. Recipient(s) will be chosen on the basis of academic achievement, school and community activities, motivation, and leadership. Financial need may also be taken into consideration.

The Scottie W. Cox Memorial Scholarship of NCCCLA     

Employee of a learning resources center/library in North Carolina having at least a bachelor's degree and taking advanced courses for professional development or in pursuit of a master's or doctoral degree in the library and information studies field. The courses must be offered by an accredited educational institution or other charitable organization.
