Granville County Community Foundation awards $23,000 in grants

The Granville County Community Foundation has awarded $23,000 in grants to organizations supporting the local community.

The board of advisors granted:

  • $5,000 to Area Congregations in Ministry for lease of a refrigerated truck
  • $500 to Autism Society of North Carolina for autism resource specialists in Granville County
  • $5,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central North Carolina for Triple Play – Health & Wellness Program for Mind, Body & Soul
  • $1,000 to C&C Innovations of Granville Corporation for Community Day
  • $1,500 to Diaper Bank of NC for meeting diaper need in Granville County
  • $3,000 to Made4Me, Inc. for Making Abilities Possible Project
  • $1,500 to Oxford UMC Summer Literacy for summer literacy program
  • $2,500 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Star Pupils Granville County
  • $1,000 to STEAM Guardian Foundation, Inc. for FIRST Robotics Competition Team 7671 Fire Hazard
  • $1,000 to TROSA (Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers, Inc.) for residential substance abuse recovery services for individuals from Granville County
  • $1,000 to Vision’s Educational Learning & Tutoring Services for general operating support

Funds for the grants came from the Martha Frances Pruitt Endowment Fund, the Annette Clark Endowment, and the Dr. and Mrs. C. Bryan Finch Endowment Fund.

“These local recipients do important work among us,” said Charlie Gunn, advisory board president of the Granville County Community Foundation. “Supporting them is an investment in our community.”

GCCF is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation and is led by a local volunteer advisory board. Each year, GCCF uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to nonprofits that help the local community.
