{"tinyMCE_dummy":"","title":"Harnett County Community Foundation awards $9,000 in grants","url":"\/news\/harnett-county-community-foundation-awards-9000-in-grants","meta":{"title":"","description":"","excludeFromSitemap":"No"},"ordinal":999,"content":"<p>The <a href=\"\/communities\/sandhills\/harnett-county\">Harnett County Community Foundation<\/a> has awarded $9,000 in grants to organizations supporting the local community.<\/p>\r\n<p>The board of advisors granted:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>$500 to Campbell University for the Community Collaborative Support Center within Dunn Elementary School<\/li>\r\n<li>$500 to Diaper Bank of NC for Distributing Dignity: meeting diaper need in Harnett County<\/li>\r\n<li>$500 to Dunn Police Athletic &amp; Activities League, Inc. for the career readiness initiative<\/li>\r\n<li>$2,500 to Dunn United Ministerial Association for Harnett County war against hunger<\/li>\r\n<li>$2,000 to SAFE of Harnett County for general operating support<\/li>\r\n<li>$1,000 to Special Olympics North Carolina for Special Olympics North Carolina &ndash; Harnett County<\/li>\r\n<li>$2,000 to Western Harnett Lions Club for vision screening<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>Funds for the grants came from HCCF&rsquo;s community grantmaking fund.<\/p>\r\n<p>&ldquo;This support shows our commitment to these organizations,&rdquo; said Patricia Harmon-Lewis, advisory board president of the Harnett County Community Foundation. &ldquo;We&rsquo;re pleased to provide these financial resources.&rdquo;<\/p>\r\n<p>HCCF is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation and is led by a local volunteer advisory board.
