Lee County Community Foundation awards more than $52,000 in grants

The Lee County Community Foundation has awarded $52,430 in grants to organizations supporting the local community.

The board of advisors granted:

  • $3,000 to Autism Society of North Carolina for autism resource specialists in Lee County
  • $10,000 to Brick Capital Community Development Corporation for a construction project manager
  • $8,500 to Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas for Lee County Childhood Cancer Safety Net
  • $3,000 to Family Promise of Lee County, Inc. for general operating support
  • $3,000 to Lee County Arts Council for The Sanford Performing Arts for Children (SPArC)
  • $14,330 to Partnership for Children & Families for PFCF Doula Support Services – Dear Trinity, LLC
  • $3,000 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Star Pupils Lee County
  • $5,000 to Salvation Army of Lee County for The Salvation Army of Lee County Navigation Center
  • $2,600 to United Way of Lee County for NC 211

Funds for the grants came from LCCF’s community grantmaking fund, the Betty Sauls Memorial Endowment, the Lisa Lynn McBryde Memorial Endowment, and the Warren and Imogene Kinder Owens Memorial Endowment.

“These organizations strengthen our community,” said David Spivey, advisory board president of the Lee County Community Foundation. “We’re privileged to lend our support to their efforts.”

LCCF is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation and is led by a local volunteer advisory board. Each year, LCCF uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to nonprofits that help the local community.
