Lenoir County Community Foundation awards more than $13,000 in grants

The Lenoir County Community Foundation has awarded $13,600 in grants to organizations supporting the local community.

The board of advisors granted:

  • $2,275 to Community Council for the Arts for upgrade of technology
  • $4,800 to Hope Preparatory School for Remarkable Readers Are Continuing to Soar
  • $1,525 to Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina-Duplin for MCEC Building Peace in Communities

  • $1,000 to Ronald McDonald House of Eastern NC for general operating support for Funding Families of Lenoir County
  • $2,000 to Special Olympics North Carolina for Special Olympics North Carolina – Lenoir County

Funds for the grants came from LCCF’s community grantmaking fund, the Oakland Fund, and the Warren and Barbara Perry Fund.

“This year our grant making decisions took into consideration the impact that the grant would have on the local community, especially the children and youth who reside in Lenoir County," said Sandy Skirving, advisory board president of the Lenoir County Community Foundation. "Our affiliate board has been working hard to attract more donors. I want to thank the donors and the applicants who made our 2023 grants possible. We are building a stronger community with local leaders.”

LCCF is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation and is led by a local volunteer advisory board. Each year, LCCF uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to nonprofits that help the local community.
