New Ramseur Community Fund established with Randolph affiliate

The Community Foundation for Randolph County (CFRC) announces the establishment of the Ramseur Community Fund Endowment, according to Chris Griffin, CFRC board president.

“The Community Foundation for Randolph County is very pleased to add the Ramseur Community Fund Endowment to our local family of funds,” Griffin said. This fund was established to support local economic development efforts that enhance growth to Ramseur and its vicinity.

The fund was established as a project of the Ramseur Small Towns Economic Prosperity (STEP) grant program and seeded with $2,000 in grant funds. In an expression of support for the community’s economic viability, the Ramseur Main Street Merchants Association (RMSMA) donated $10,000 to provide a solid foundation for the fund.

“We couldn’t think of a more appropriate way to give back to the Ramseur community than to make this long-term investment in community and economic development,” said outgoing RMSMA President Carol Akers.

“The Ramseur STEP team wanted an opportunity to influence future economic growth in the community,” said STEP team coordinator Kevin Franklin. “The Ramseur Community Fund can be that vehicle, while also providing an opportunity for residents and former residents to give back to the community in a meaningful way.”

To make a donation to the Ramseur Community Fund Endowment simply make your check out to “The Ramseur Community Fund” and mail it to: NC Community Foundation, 4601 Six Forks Road, Ste. 524, Raleigh, NC 27609, or make an online contribution here.
