Community Foundation for Randolph County awards more than $8,000 in grants
The Community Foundation for Randolph County has awarded $8,500 in grants to organizations supporting the local community.
The board of advisors granted:
- $2,000 to Asheboro Shelter of Hope for bunkbeds for sleeping quarters
- $500 to Communities in Schools of Randolph County for Grow GoFar!
- $2,000 to Randolph Community College Foundation for Student Assistance Program (SAP)
- $2,000 to Randolph Senior Adults Association, Inc. for meal programs
- $2,000 to Spirit Horse Ranch Rescue and Education, Inc. for heating and cooling system for inclement weather
Funds for the grants came from CFRC’s community grantmaking fund.
“We’re excited about the work that these organizations do,” said Lisa Hayworth, advisory board president of the Community Foundation for Randolph County. “And we’re pleased to be able to support their efforts.”
CFRC is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation and is led by a local volunteer advisory board. Each year, CFRC uses dollars from its endowment fund to make grants to nonprofits that help the local community.
